Catamount Aerial Adventure Park

There are 12 separate courses consisting of over 50 zip lines, 170 platforms; including a new “Green Rapids” zip line course open for all ages and 2 courses feature 2000’ of zip lines each.  The courses are for all ability levels and they will challenge participants age 7 and older including youths, teens, and adults (suggested minimum height is 48”, maximum weight is 265 pounds). No previous experience is needed and group discounts available.

FASNY Museum of Firefighting

The FASNY Museum of Firefighting is America’s interactive museum of firefighting! Hand Hollow State Forest

Columbia County’s newest State Forest: 518 acres of wooded property, open brush land and a 10-acre lake available for hiking, biking, paddling and non-motorized boating, picnicking, horseback riding (except on foot trails and snowmobile/ski trails when snow covered), primitive camping, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, hunting, fishing, trapping, wildlife observation and photography. There are currently no official trails on the property.

Hawthorne Valley Farm

Tours are offered on this modern, diversified, biodynamic farm which spans 500 acres of woodlands and rolling hills, open fields and meadows, and flowing creeks and streams. Visitors are also welcome to take a self-guided tour; maps are available in the Farm Store. Take the kids to see the cows in the milking barn (8-8:30am or 2-2:30pm); visit the pigs (and often piglets!) and sheep in the Youngstock Barn; picnic on the grounds with lunch from the Farm Store.  Mon-Sun 7:30am-7pm.

Rheinstrom Hill Audubon Sanctuary and Center

A 1,039 acre sanctuary provides habitat for many at risk climate-threatened bird species, such as Wood Thrush, Veery, Scarlet Tanager, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Blue-headed Vireo, and warblers such as Ovenbird, Chestnut-sided, Black-throated Blue, Black-and-white, and Blackburnian. It is also habitat for White-tailed Deer, Coyotes, Bobcats and Black Bears. It is a great place for birding, nature walks and hiking. Open daily dawn to dusk
