Arbor Day at Olana
Saturday, April 29, 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Free
Celebrate Arbor Day during an afternoon of drop-in activities, music, workshops, and free walking tours through Olana’s forested landscape. There will be a giveaway of FREE tree seedlings to the first one hundred participants so stop by early to join in on the fun and get your own sapling to take care of at home.
Learn more about the important role trees played in Frederic Church’s design of Olana with free landscape tours at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30pm. Hone your own tree identification skills during drop in activities led by the Columbia Land Conservancy beginning at noon and stick around for a live performance by the Hudson Valley’s favorite party brass band, Brasskill, at 3pm. Register for special workshops focusing on painting the landscape and creating natural dyes. Grab a bite to eat from vegan food vendor, Urugula Creative Cuisine, who will be onsite serving plant-based snacks and bites throughout the day.
Space in workshops is limited and advanced registration is required.
