    September —- A carefully curated weekend of music and art that’s been called “the anti-festival” by various publications for offering a thoughtful mix of music, visual art, and literature.   • Chatham SummerFest

    July —- The street fair, whose activities will take place on Main Street, Park Row and Hudson Avenue, regularly draws hundreds of visitors and showcases many varied local organizations as well as performers, artists and vendors. Many of Chatham’s one-of-a-kind stores and restaurants will set up tables outdoors as part of a sidewalk sale.

  • Handmade in America: Artisans Along Main Street

    October —- Live acoustic music and over 40, local and regional, artisans will display and sell their works on main Street in Valatie. Festival will feature delicious artisan cheeses, breads, condiments, and other hot and cold foods and artisanal beverages; ceramics, botanical and handmade soaps, fabric and textile objects, silver and hand-crafted jewelry, exquisite handmade and other distinctive goods.

    Hudson Winter Walk

    December —- Holiday revelers ride in carriages drawn by teams of horses up and down Warren Street, Hudson’s main thoroughfare. Carolers dressed in Victorian costumes sing songs of the season. Musical ensembles and dancers perform in the many shops that fill the street. The aroma of roasting chestnuts fills the air. It’s a scene evocative of days gone by. But that scene becomes a modern day reality on the evening of the First Saturday of December as the Hudson Opera House Center for the Arts presents Winter Walk on Warren Street. This free event from 5pm-8pm is a holiday tradition for area residents with entertainment and activities to please all ages.

  • Columbia County, New York -room full of people and books

    Spencertown Academy Festival of Books

    September —- The Festival features a giant used book sale, one of the biggest in the region, featuring more than 10,000 gently used books, including fiction and non-fiction, hard and soft covers—all offered at very affordable prices. Two days of readings and book signings by nationally known and local authors, and a children’s program. Admission is free to all of the events, save for the early book-buying opportunities.

  • WinterWalk & Winter Parade, Valatie

    December —- Santa and Mrs. Claus ring in the festivities throughout the village and will welcome you to the Valatie Community Theatre to listen to kids’ Wish Lists, a live reindeer petting area, marionettes, jugglers, musicians, musical acts, and roaming carolers travel up and down the street. A variety of live musical performances will include rock n’ roll, singer-songwriters, harpist and acoustic blues. Carolers will meander at various indoor and outdoor venues, and Dancers will perform along Main Street. Village shops teeming with holiday goodies, additional food vendors, artisans, music, entertainment, sales at local stores and more throughout historic Valatie’s Village Main Street.
