Woodland Pools Exploration
Saturday, March 30, 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
FreeJoin CLC (Columbia Land Conservancy) for a fun exploration of woodland pools!
This walk is perfect for nature lovers of all ages. Together, we will learn about the woodland pools and the animals who call these places home. These woodland pools, also called vernal pools, are seasonal pools of water that provide habitat for distinctive plants and animals, like spring peepers, wood frogs, and salamanders.
This time of year is ideal for spotting amphibians as they migrate from their wintering spots and journey to vernal pools to find mates.
What’s involved: This event may include walking off trail over uneven surfaces. We will be going near vernal pools, so terrain will likely be wet and muddy.
What to bring: Please bring a water bottle and shoes that can get wet and muddy. We recommend hiking boots or waterproof shoes.
What not to bring: Please, no dogs.
We are proud to offer this program for free to the public with a suggested five-dollar donation. This gift will allow CLC to continue offering programs like these at no cost and support land conservation work.
